New year, new chapter - what's next after Legia

1 January 2026. A new year is a good moment to write honestly about what has changed for me.

The end of the Legia chapter

After 6 years I have finished my daily work at the Legia Warsaw Academy. It was not an easy decision. At Legia I learned a lot and built a lot from scratch:

  • I coordinated the Training Analysis Department,
  • we won Polish Championships,
  • players I worked with made it to the Ekstraklasa,
  • I spoke at UEFA, ECA and Science4Football conferences.

But a moment came when I felt I needed a change.

Why?

  • Family. Work in football takes your weekends, evenings and travel, and family ends up in second place. I wanted to change that.
  • Development. For 6 years I was in execution mode: coaching, analysis, coordination, internal education. I had no time for learning, reflection and my own projects.
  • Sharing knowledge. I wanted to do it on a bigger scale - more systematically and for the long term.

What now?

I continue my work with the Poland U-20 national team. In March we play Germany and Romania.

National team work has a different energy than club work: shorter camps, higher intensity, international matches. And above all, I now have what I was missing before - time.

What happened in 2025?

A lot on the education side: courses for external companies (including Laba), sessions on UEFA A courses and preparations for my own education project.

Over the years I gathered experience - from volunteering and my first sessions, through building a department at Legia, to the U-20 national team. I feel I have something to pass on, and I want to do it fully.

What drives me

I recently took the RMP motivation test with Mariusz Rosmanowski. One of its scales is "sharing vs. hoarding" - my result was clearly sharing.

It did not surprise me. I have always found the most satisfaction in teaching someone, supporting their development or showing how something works.

When an analyst from my team got promoted. When a coach understood a new concept. When someone said after a conference: "That opened my eyes". When someone took a real step in their career. That is what drives me.

An education project

I am planning a project I have been thinking about for a long time: working with coaches, analysts and former players who want to develop. The topic is analysis - practical and concrete, based on top-level experience, no generalities.

I want to show:

  • how a coach analyst thinks in a club and in a national team,
  • how the U-20 national team staff prepares for a match,
  • what mistakes beginners make,
  • what works in practice and what does not.

It will not be an after-hours project. It will be my main work, and I will give it my time and energy. Details in the coming days.

Who is it for?

  • coaches who want to improve their analysis skills,
  • analysts who want to raise the quality of their work,
  • former players preparing for a coaching role.

After 6 years in execution mode, I am moving into creation mode. I feel it is the right path.
